# Governance

### Governance

Open Campus is governed by its DAO. This structure enables our community to advance the vision of Open Campus and shape its future direction via a decentralized governance process. Membership is granted to all EDU tokenholders - this confers the right to tokenholders to participate in the decision-making process of the DAO by voting on proposals put forth by others.

Tokenholders participate in the governance of the DAO through a proposal process. The Council, with the support of the administrators, will vet the proposals to ensure they adhere to the guidelines. But the merit of each proposal should be evaluated by tokenholders, and they should collectively vote and decide on whether each proposal is in the best interest of the DAO.

$EDU token holders can submit proposals and suggest new initiatives to advance the protocol's vision. Decisions are formed by the DAO and voted by $EDU token holders through Governance.<br>
